Eligibility Criteria

Scheme of Exam

Computer Based Examination: The computer based examination (CBE) will consist of objective type paper containing 80 questions carrying 2 marks each, with the following composition mentioned below.

Questions will be of Objective type and Multiple Choice. The computer based examination language will be in English, Hindi and in 13 Regional languages (1) Assamese, (2) Bengali, (3) Gujarati, (4) Kannada, (5) Konkani, (6) Malayalam, (7) Manipuri, (8) Marathi, (9) Odia, (10) Punjabi, (11) Tamil, (12) Telugu (13) Urdu.


This exam will have a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer. Candidates are, therefore, advised to keep negative marking idea in mind while answering the questions.

Physical Efficiency Test (PET)/ Physical Standard Test (PST):,

candidates will be shortlisted for PST/ PET, based on the performance in CBE by the Commission. Physical Standard Test (PST) & Physical Efficiency Test (PET) to be conducted at various centres finalized by the CAPFs.

Application Fee

Application Fee - Rs 100

Women candidates, Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Persons with Disabilities (PwD) and Ex-servicemen (ESM) eligible for reservation are exempted from Application fee

Pay Scale: Pay Level-3 (Rs. 21,700-69,100).

Admit Card: Examination admit card for all stages will not be sent by Post. Candidates can download admit cards at the websites of Regional Offices of the Commission as well as on the website of CRPF - http://www.crpf.gov.in. Candidates are advised to regularly visit the websites of the Commission - https:// ssc.nic.in

Nationality/ Citizenship: Candidate must be an Indian citizen. Vacancies in CAPFs & AR are State/ UT/ area wise hence a candidate has to submit domicile/ PRC against his state/ UT.
