Eligibility Criteria: Are You Eligible?
Before applying, aspirants must carefully go
through the UCEED eligibility conditions as defined by IIT Bombay:
Age Limit
- General/Open/EWS/OBC-NCL
candidates must have been born on or after October 1, 2001.
- SC/ST/PwD candidates get a 5-year relaxation,
i.e., born on or after October 1, 1996.
Number of
Attempts
- A candidate can appear for UCEED a maximum of two times in
consecutive years.
- The score is valid for one academic year only.
Qualifying
Exam
- Must have passed the Class 12 (or equivalent) examination in
2025 or 2026 in any stream (Science, Commerce, or Arts).
- Candidates appeared for Class 12 in 2024 or earlier are not
eligible for UCEED 2026.

UCEED continues with its two-part structure
but introduces key changes for 2026, especially in Part B, which
is drawing-based.
Part A:
Computer-Based Test (CBT)
- Total Marks: 200
- Duration: 2

- NAT (Numerical Answer Type) 14 questions (4 marks each; no
negative marks).
- MSQ (Multiple Select Questions) 15 questions. Each MSQ may
have one or more than one correct choice(s).
- MCQ (Multiple Choice Questions) 28 questions (3 marks each
for the correct answer; 0.71 negative marks for incorrect answers).
Part B:
Drawing Test
- Total Marks: 100
- Duration: 1 Hour
- Mode: Pen and Paper (Offline)

The UCEED syllabus aims to test a
student’s ability in design thinking, creativity, logical reasoning, and
visualisation.

- GEN-EWS: 10%
- OBC-NCL: 27%
- SC: 15%
- ST: 7.5%
- PwD: 5% horizontal reservation in each
